What types of performances do you offer?
Circus Alchemy provides a whole range of performances, from short, single person fire shows to full length feature performances. We can be on fire, lit up with LED’s, or wandering around your event in character … the possibilities are endless! Please contact us to discuss your event! There are a variety of tools used during our performances. Please let us know if you are looking for any specific performance styles.
Poi
Poi is a traditional art form of the Maori people of New Zealand. Balls suspended on chains are swung in circular patterns creating a breathtaking array of visuals.
Staff/Batons
Our baton and staff spinners manipulate 1, 2 and even 3 batons of various lengths, creating both fluid and angular patterns for the viewer.
Hoop
Hula hooping like you have never seen before! Our spinstresses weave their magic with a multitude of different hoop combinations rotating around every part of the body.
Contact Fire
Trails of flame float along performers’ bodies during a contact fire routines. Prepare to be amazed as our performers walk away unscathed.
Fire Eating & Fire Breathing
There are many varieties of fire eating and breathing techniques and we can deliver them all! Important difference: fire eaters extinguish the flame in their mouths. Fire breathers shoot flame out of their mouth, like a dragon, with the flame riding on their breath. Fire eaters can do all manner of elaborate tricks with the flame, transferring it from wick to wick using just their tongues, for example. Fire breathers expel huge bursts of flame into the air.
Fans/Fingers/Orb/Palm Torches
Brilliant flames and sultry effects — these tools will mystify audiences. Ranging from single wicks to fan-like arrays of many points of flame, these dance-oriented tools have the power to enchant and delight when wielded by our dancers.
Fabric Fans & Flags
These are our non-fire versions of the same lovely tools. They are somewhat different to use but they produce simlarly graceful poetry in motion.
Stilts
Stilt-walkers will tower above a crowd, interacting with audience members. Guaranteed to take your event to new heights!
Aerials
Aerial artists defy gravity and dangle from extraordinary heights while contorting into beautiful forms on a variety of equipment such as fabric (a.k.a. ‘silks’ or ’tissu’) and static trapeze.
Site Animation/Character Work
Clowns, impersonators, abstract visions and more! Let our performers transform your space. Characters will play directly with audience members creating a vibrant, interactive event environment. Dancers will embody sculpture in motion, enlivening and transforming your space.
